Another opportunity to meet me!

This Wednesday night, January 18, I'll be joining the Boston Ward 3 Republican Committee at an event  from 6:30-8:30 at Joe's American Bar and Grill, 100 Atlantic Ave. in Boston.

Former state senator and lieutenant governor candidate Richard Tisei, who is now running against Congressman John Tierney in MA-6 (North Shore), will be there, as will several state committee candidates.

I hope to meet as many of you as possible there!

  1. I will come to listen. I saw what you have posted so far and have found it lacking in specifics. I mean, saying that RTCs should exist where Republican registration is 4-7%? Everyone says that. Everyone says we should put up candidates everywhere. But what would you actually *do*? Would you use technology better to reach out to Republicans? Hold unusual and interesting events? Start public service projects that would capture the imagination of the public? Raise lots of money to help candidates? Go to certain business and non-profits and ask their leaders to run for office? Write and speak publicly about how Republican principles are relevant to people living in liberal places like Boston and Cambridge? Anyway, hope to meet you soon.

  2. Mr. Lyons,

Everyone may be saying that, but in this district, no one's even come close to doing it. You're correct to identify that my first step will, indeed, be to work with the state committeewoman for the district (Barbara Bush, who ran for state Senate in 2010, is also unopposed) to use the available technology to reach out to every single registered Republican in the district, as soon as possible. Regrettably, at this point and in this part of Massachusetts, that won't be nearly as hard as it sounds.

I thank you very much for taking the time to visit my blog and offer a comment. You clearly care about the future of the party. Hopefully we'll able to talk soon about your ideas for doing so.
